Brain Awareness Week 2026 – CASAK
“Bringing Brain Health Awareness to Schools”
Brain Awareness Week (BAW) is a global campaign celebrated every March to raise awareness about the brain, neuroscience, and brain health. This year, CASAK is proud to bring BAW directly to schools, educating students about how the brain works and why brain health matters.
CASAK’s campaign, “Our Brains, Our Future”, will run from 9–14 March 2026 in Nairobi. This proactive initiative aims to inspire young minds, equip caregivers, and strengthen advocacy for equitable mental health and geriatric care in Kenya.
Responding to the rising burden of dementia, memory loss, and neurological conditions, the campaign demystifies brain health while promoting prevention, care, and intergenerational solidarity. The campaign will engage students, teachers, caregivers, community members, and policymakers through school outreach activities, a community brain health fair, and structured public dialogue.
The brain controls everything we do — learning, memory, emotions, and movement. During BAW, CASAK helps students understand:
- How their brain works
- Ways to keep their brain healthy through good sleep, nutrition, exercise, and mental wellness
- The importance of early awareness of brain disorders
This year, CASAK will visit selected schools to engage students in fun and educational activities, such as:
- Interactive Brain Workshops – Hands-on demonstrations of brain functions
- Brain Games & Quizzes – Fun challenges to test memory and thinking skills
- Educational Talks – Simple, relatable lessons on brain health and mental well-being
- Poster & Essay Competitions – Encouraging creativity while learning about the brain
I hope to see you there!
